Awarded the emerging Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2004 for innovation in the field of Off-Site Construction, and the Enterprise Ireland Strategic Business Planning and High Performance Start up Awards in 2003 and 2005 respectively.
Experienced in the Caribbean region, Patrick successfully established Harper O’Callaghan Construction Services Ltd., of which he was a founding partner, as the number one turn-key construction and building services provider in the region. Tripled Turnover and Quadrupled Profits during the period 1995-2000 and successfully targeted international Fortune 500 companies. Clients included: Jockey International, Hanes/Sarah Lee Corp, AT&T, McDonald’s International, Airport Authority and Port Authority of Jamaica, Sandals Resorts, Round Hill and Half Moon Hotels amongst many others.
Patrick led funding, recruitment, factory start-up, marketing and business development for 2 modular off-site construction ventures in Ireland with a strong export focus. He has manufactured, delivered to site and commissioned tens of thousands of commercially successful modular building units now in use in a range of complex projects across Europe.
In Prime Pods Patrick assembled the core sales and manufacturing team to support modular construction operations in September ’06. The initial role was in business planning, team building and establishing performance goals and KPI’s for both the company and employees. Through consensus building and complex negotiations, he landed landmark J.V. deals with Wyndham Hotels and Alfred McAlpine Plc. for a LEED Certified, 10 hotel roll out in the UK as launch project based around the London 2012 Olympics.
Delta Off-Site Solutions, which he co-founded in 2002, was the first off-site manufacturing entity in Ireland to manufacture bathroom and kitchen pods. Patrick developed a system for delivering modular components to speed up construction and patented the ThinFloor technology. Raising over AED 50M in start-up funding he grew the company to a Europe wide recognized brand in three years, with a turnover of AED 280M p.a. and a performance incentivized staff of 300.
Setting up as contractors and manufacturers in the Middle East in 2008, clients included Saudi Aramco, Abdul Latif Jameel, Voltas, ADNOC, ALEMCO and Drake & Scull on the successful manufacture and delivery of prefabricated modules for their landmark projects in the region. Now, as consultants the company offers modular engineering & design, BIM, production drawings and manufacturing facility set-up and training services for all types of prefabricated sub-assemblies.
Patrick has completed over one hundred successful Modular and Prefabrication projects over the last 20 years in Europe and throughout the GCC both as module sub-contractors and more recently as Engineering & Design Consultants. He know this field inside out; he knows know where the industry is going and the vital tweaks necessary to configure a project so as to harness the cost, time and productivity benefits of all forms of prefabrication.
Directorships included Modern Applications Ltd., Tangible Technologies, Prime Pods, Delta Off-Site Solutions and Zero Carbon Built Environments, all companies with a strong interest in environmentally friendly and low carbon technologies.
Patrick is a Fellow of the Ryan Academy of Entrepreneurship in Ireland, a Member of the GLG Council High Table and Member of the Institute of Engineers of Ireland. An avid ocean racing and one-design helmsman & skipper with wins in the Miami-Montego Bay Yacht Race, Round Ireland Race and Dubai – Muscat Race. He is a 6 time National Champion (J22) & multiple World Championship participant. A certified PADI diver & Life Member of the Montego Bay Yacht Club, where he has served as Race Committee Chairman & Vice Commodore.
