Off-Site Engineering Solutions LLC, a specialist provider of pre-engineered MEP solutions with headquarters in Dubai, has successfully completed a contract for the design, fabrication and delivery of multi service MEP modules to the King Abdullah Petroleum Science and Research Centre (KAPSARC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The company worked closely with main contractors Drake & Scull International Saudi Arabia, client Saudi Aramco and consultants Arup, using BIM modelling and proprietary technology to design the modules which were prefabricated in a temporary facility on the KAPSARC site in Riyadh, close to the point of use.
Ahmad Al Naser, DSI Regional Operations Director noted that, “The use of multi-service MEP modules impacted the site works positively and we look forward to working with Off-Site Engineering Solutions again.”
The 6 metre modules incorporated insulated HVAC ducting, firefighting, chilled water supply and return pipework, fresh water supply and return, fan coil units, electrical trays and data containment and were installed as complete units, fast tracking the site program for installation of these services.
According to Off-Site Engineering Solutions, the feedback on quality, ease of installation and ability to improve site program ranged from good to very good from project and construction managers involved.
Commenting on the successful completion, Off-Site Engineering Solutions CEO, Patrick O’Callaghan said, “Both Saudi Aramco and Drake & Scull International are top tier clients and contractors respectively. Endorsements and technical approvals at this level are of great benefit to Off-Site Engineering Solutions as we seek to expand our operations and client base in Saudi Arabia.”
